Who Is Tristan Tate?

Tristan Tate is Andrew Tate's younger brother and business partner, a British-American former kickboxer turned businessman and online personality. He helped build the brothers' webcam, casino, and online-education businesses.

Born in Chicago and raised in Luton, England, Tristan fought as a two-time ISKA European kickboxing champion before following Andrew into business in Romania around 2017. The two have run nearly every venture together since, from a Bucharest webcam studio to Romanian casinos to the online-education platform The Real World.

He is also currently facing serious criminal charges in Romania, which he denies and has not been convicted of. The detail on that case sits in its own section below.

Tristan the kickboxer

Tristan Tate built his early reputation in the same place Andrew did: the ring. He trained in Luton, England, at Storm Gym under coach Amir Subasic, and turned professional as a kickboxer.

He won two ISKA European titles, first at cruiserweight and later at super cruiserweight, with a reported record of about 43 wins and 9 losses. These are European championships, not world titles. The four world titles belong to Andrew, and the distinction is worth keeping straight.

Fighting did two things for Tristan. It gave him a public profile and a competitor's discipline, and it put him shoulder to shoulder with the brother he would later build every business with. When the fighting wound down, both Tates were looking for the next move, and they found it far from the gym.

The Tate brothers

Andrew and Tristan Tate are two of the three children of Emory Tate, an American chess International Master, and his British wife, Eileen. Their father was a five-time US Armed Forces chess champion known for beating grandmasters. After their parents divorced in the 1990s, their mother raised them in Luton, England, on the Marsh Farm council estate.

Andrew is the older and louder of the two. He is the four-time world kickboxing champion, the "Top G" persona, and the public face of nearly everything the pair touches. Tristan has spent most of his career a step behind that spotlight, as the business partner rather than the frontman.

The businesses themselves, though, have always been a two-man operation. Since moving to Bucharest, Romania around 2017, the brothers have run their webcam studio, their casinos, the War Room, and The Real World together. Where one Tate goes, the other tends to follow.

That includes the courtroom. Both brothers are now defendants in the same Romanian criminal case, covered in its own section below.

How Tristan Tate made his money

Tristan's money has come from the same places Andrew's has, built side by side. Two businesses did the heavy lifting before the online era: a webcam studio and a set of Romanian casinos.

1. The webcam studio

The brothers' first big earner in Romania was a webcam business. Viewers paid about $4 a minute, plus tips, to chat with models on camera. Andrew has openly said the people messaging those clients were often staff at keyboards rather than the models themselves, and has called the operation a "scam." The brothers started by putting their own girlfriends on camera and claimed to grow to around 75 models, a figure that is widely doubted.

This same business is now at the center of the criminal case against the brothers. Prosecutors have made allegations about how the women were recruited and treated, all of which the Tates deny. None of it has been proven in court, and neither brother has been convicted. The full story is in the legal section below.

2. The Romanian casinos

Tristan moved into gambling through a Romanian connection. While working in the country's fight-promotion scene, he met a wealthy sponsor who owned casinos and pitched a deal to launch new venues under that branding for a share of the profits. The brothers ran casinos in Romania for several years.

3. The online businesses

By the early 2020s the money had moved online, into a paid education platform and a private members' network. Those are central enough to Tristan's public image to get their own section, next.

Tristan, The Real World and The War Room

After the webcam and casino years, the brothers' brand moved into two ventures that now sit at the center of the Tate name.

The Real World, originally launched as Hustlers University, is their online education platform. Members pay a monthly fee for courses on making money online, from e-commerce to crypto. Andrew is the public founder, and Tristan promotes it alongside him.

The War Room is the more private of the two. It is an invitation-style network for paying members, built around business connections, networking, and the brothers' self-improvement ethos. Tristan is a co-founder.

Since December 2022, Tristan and Andrew Tate have been at the center of serious criminal investigations in two countries. Both brothers deny every allegation, and neither has been convicted of anything.

In Romania, prosecutors with the anti-organized-crime directorate, DIICOT, charged the brothers in 2023 with rape, human trafficking, and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women. The indictment named seven alleged victims. The case grew out of their December 2022 arrest in Bucharest, and it is still moving through the Romanian courts. As of 2026 it has not reached a verdict.

In the United Kingdom, prosecutors opened a separate matter. In 2025 the Crown Prosecution Service announced 21 charges against the two brothers, including rape and human trafficking, tied to alleged conduct in England years earlier. A separate civil claim brought by several women is also working through the UK courts.

The Tates reject all of it. They describe the cases as politically motivated and say they expect to be cleared. None of these allegations has been tested at trial, and as of 2026 neither brother has any criminal conviction in either country.
